Hippies are still there but there's been a ton of investment in the last 5 years since I've been going there and the hippies and locals are being squeezed out by rich absentee landlords and their million dollar beach front properties.
Still a great place to ride though. The tails are so buff it's like taking a vacaction from the North Shore gnar :)
